Since our founding in 2008, we have been dedicated to providing essential relief services, including food security, health and nutrition, shelter, water, and sanitation.

Emergency Relief

In the face of crisis, Gargaar Humanitarian & Development Organization stands as a beacon of hope for the people of Somalia. Founded in 2008, this nongovernmental, non-profit, and non-religious community-based organization has been operating tirelessly throughout South Central Somalia, providing essential humanitarian aid and development support.

Since its inception, Gargaar has reached hundreds of thousands of Somalis, offering vital services in food security, health and nutrition, shelter, water, and sanitation. Through partnerships with humanitarian organizations, including UN agencies and other international entities, Gargaar has implemented crucial Water, Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation (WASH) projects in central Somalia, including for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Conflict and Peace Building

Gargaar’s impact extends beyond immediate relief efforts. The organization also plays a crucial role in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, fostering dialog and promoting reconciliation among communities torn apart by years of unrest. By addressing the root causes of conflict and empowering local populations, Gargaar is paving the way for a more stable and prosperous future for Somalia.
